Gene Hunt is truly one of Chicago’s Entertainment legends that has impacted dance crowds and music lovers for over 20 years of his career with playing and working as a professional DJ at the hottest venues in the Chicago land area such as the Warehouse, The Music Box, Medusas, The Playground, Green Dolphin, Smart Bar, The Shrine and many more. The legendary Gene Hunt has worked with some of the heaviest hitters in the game as a professional DJ of House Music such as Ron Hardy, Farley Jack Master Funk, Robert Owens, Mr. Fingers Larry Heard, Terry Hunter and Kenny Dope of M.A.W. As Gene Hunt states “I’m from the old school, I’ve seen many eras of House Music change over the years and I know what people want in music; listening and dancing” Gene’s first EP in 1987; Living in the Land was released on an old classic label where Chicago house was then exposed called Traxx. He then moved onto several UK labels such as Djax, Hybrid, Mc Projects, Step 2 House, Svek and Rush Hour where he made his mark abroad. Mr. Hunt currently finished projects and is in the works with new projects with Unified Records, Harley & Muscle, Dope Wax and Got Soul Recordings. Gene just released his “Throwback 87”featuring Ron Hardy and “Cancemini” EP with Rush Hour Records this past Summer, along with winning the winning the 30th annual award for Chicago’s Most Outstanding House Music DJ. He has performed at the Congress Theater and was interviewed for the release of the History of House Music Chicago LP CD and DVD. Gene Hunt is the apprentice of the legendary Ron Hardy so keep a close eye on the things to come from this Chicago Icon.
