About this Event

Upon completion of this training, the individual is awarded one (1) CE hours for psychologists, counselors, social workers, and therapists.

This course describes and reviews the research on the fifth level of the Gottman’s Sound Relationship House: Conflict Management, and how it relates to “geek” relationships. This course will review the screening measures to assess the level of conflict in a relationship and how to apply evidence-based interventions to increase conflict management skills in the relationship. This course will focus on assessment, intervention, and diagnosis specific skills for post-doctoral and master’s level clinicians who are working with clients facing these challenges.

Learning Objectives:

  1. Identify two valid screening tools to assess the level of unhealthy conflict in a relationship
  2. Identify two evidenced based interventions that are effective in increasing conflict management
  3. Identify two ways to use geek culture to increase healthy conflict management in a relationship.
  4. Describe and identify Gottman’s four horsemen

Continuing Education Credits:

Psychologists: Geek Therapeutics is approved by the American Psychological Association to sponsor continuing education for psychologists. Geek Therapeutics maintains responsibility for this program and its content.

Counselors: Geek Therapeutics has been approved by NBCC as an Approved Continuing Education Provider, ACEP No. 7042. Programs that do not qualify for NBCC credit are clearly identified. Geek Therapeutics is solely responsible for all aspects of the programs.

Social Workers: Geek Therapeutics, #1769, is approved to offer social work continuing education by the Association of Social Work Boards (ASWB)Approved Continuing Education (ACE) program. Organizations, not individual courses, are approved as ACE providers. State and provincial regulatory boards have the final authority to determine whether an individual course may be accepted for continuing education credit. Geek Therapeutics maintains responsibility for this course. ACE provider approval period: 05/19/2022 – 05/19/2025. Social workers completing this course receive 1 continuing education credits.

Play Therapists: Geek Therapeutics has been approved by APT as an Approved Continuing Education Provider, No. 21-649. Programs that do not qualify for APT credit are clearly identified. Geek Therapeutics is solely responsible for all aspects of the programs.

Other Professions: This activity qualifies for the specified number of hours of instructional content as required by many licensing boards and professional organizations. Save your course outline and certificate of completion, and contact your board or organization for specific requirements. Completion of the course(s) with a post-test score of 80% or better is required to receive continuing education credit; there is no partial credit.


Course Instructor:

Wendi"Nicki" Line LMHC, LAPC, CST

Nicki Line aka Therapist Nicki is a licensed mental health counselor and board-certified sex therapist working in Tampa, Florida at Harmony US Inc. She specializes in kink and alternative relationships such as polyamory. She is also a traumatologist and addictologist. Therapist Nicki works with individuals, children, adolescents, relationships, and families. Other areas of specialization include eating disorders, military and civil service personnel.

Therapist Nicki brings her unique sense of humor and style to her practice, Harmony US INC., where geek is our kink. She is also known as the Healing Unicorn, using creative methods to clean out old wounds so the individual can heal and thrive. These creative methods include and, are not limited too, incorporating pop culture, anime, virtual reality, comic books, video games, and table top role playing games. She is also a life long geek that never stopped playing or believing in magic.

Therapist Nicki is the student director at the International Academy of Collaborating Counseling and Coaching Education (IACCCE). The creator of HarmonyUS Games , the therapeutic gaming branch of HarmonyUS Inc, and co- host of The Movies That Traumatized US podcast. She is an instructor for Kink Therapist Certification Institute and Sex Positive Academy.

System Requirements: A computer and a stable internet connection or phone to dial in.

Target Audience: Psychologists, Social Workers, Counselors, Mental Health Professionals.

Content Level: Intermediate

Course Completion Requirements: Signing into the presentation on time, signing out after the presentation has been completed thus being in full attendance, and completing the evaluation of the event. Evaluations are given via email and are submitted by clicking the finish button at the end of the evaluation. The certificate will then be generated immediately after evaluation submission has been completed.

Participants have 30 days to complete the course evaluation and if not completed in that time they must go back through the course again to obtain credit.
