Info: Karen Davis received her bachelor of science in dental hygiene from Midwestern State University. She is the founder of her own continuing education company, Cutting Edge Concepts®, and currently practices dental hygiene in Dallas, Texas. Her background as a clinician, consultant, and speaker enables her to identify with challenges facing dentistry and offer innovative solutions vital to success in today’s marketplace. Karen serves as a key opinion leader to many corporations and has served on numerous advisory boards in the dental profession. She is an accomplished author, maintains a column in RDH Magazine, and currently serves on the Corporate Council for Dimensions of Dental Hygiene. Dentistry Today has consecutively recognized Karen as a “Leader in Continuing Education” since 2006. Karen is a member of the American Academy of Oral & Systemic Health, the American Academy of Physiological Medicine & Dentistry, the American Dental Hygienists Association and the IFDH.

A Prevention Playbook: Strategies to Decrease Oral-Systemic Inflammation
Host: Dr. Jim McCreight, DDS, Steamboat Springs, CO

Info: James W.W. McCreight, DDS, graduated from the University of Iowa College of Dentistry in 1995, where he was selected to deliver the commencement address. He completed an Advanced Education in General Dentistry (AEGD) program at the Naval Dental Center in San Diego in 1996 and served on active duty as a lieutenant in the U.S. Navy, providing care to both United States Marines and Navy personnel.

In 1998 he began training at the Las Vegas Institute for Advanced Dental Studies (LVI) and served as an adjunct clinical instructor from 2006 to 2020. He taught many of the cosmetic, physiologic dentistry programs on the LVI campus as well as speaking for LVI and various dental companies across North America.
In 1998, he co-founded Yampa Valley Dental and Associates PC. (dba. McCreight Progressive Dentistry) with his wife, Wendy McCreight, DDS. In 2024 both Drs. McCreight launched Steamboat Face and Body, LLC adding a wellness center within their existing dental practice.

Currently pursuing a doctorate in Educational Leadership at UBC, Penny advocates for advancing evidence-informed practices, focusing on innovative and proactive approaches to managing oral-systemic diseases.

Her academic contributions include publications in peer-reviewed journals, and she is recognized nationally and internationally as a speaker, opinion leader, and advisor on various industry boards. Committed to community engagement, Penny volunteers in programs that support specialized and underserved populations.

From Hidden Disease to Clear Insight: How AI is Transforming Dental Diagnosis
Host: Dr. Parag Kachalia, DDS, San Ramon, CA

Info: Parag Kachilia is the Head of Clinical Practice at Overjet, where he collaborates closely with clinicians to anticipate the future needs of dental practice and helps guide product innovation. Prior to joining Overjet, he served as the Chief Clinical Officer at the Seattle Study Club, a role he found deeply rewarding. He continues to practice restorative dentistry in his private practice in San Ramon, CA.
Dr. Kachalia’s career includes being a tenured Associate Professor and Vice Chairman of Simulation, Technology, and Research at the University of the Pacific, School of Dentistry. He has been honored to be recognized as one of the 32 most influential people in dentistry from 2021 to 2023. As a published author and global lecturer, he enjoys sharing his knowledge in areas such as adhesive dentistry, cosmetic dentistry, dental photography, CAD/CAM technology, fixed prosthodontics, erosion, digital diagnostics, and improving patient experiences.

Integration of Modern Technologies and Biofilm Management in Periodontal Care
Host: Dr. Andrea Ravida, Periodontist, Pittsburgh, PA

Info: Dr. Andrea Ravidà is the Director of the Graduate Periodontics Program in the department of Periodontics at the University of Pittsburgh. He completed the periodontal specialty training in Graduate Periodontics at the University of Michigan and the PhD at the University of Granada. He teaches topics related to periodontal/implant disease and implant therapy to graduate periodontal residents in the clinics and in the classroom. He also conducts clinical research focusing on peri-implantitis and peri-implantitis. He has published more than 80 peer-reviewed articles and conference abstracts/presentations related to periodontics and implant therapy. He is section editor of the International Journal of Oral Implantology and the Journal of Translational Medicine. He serves as a reviewer and in the editorial board for multiple international journals covering periodontics and implant dentistry. He received several other awards from the nation’s authority in periodontics and implantology.
