GATHERING SPARKS is the graceful collision of Eve Goldberg and Jane Lewis who have an inclusive approach to their music that embraces folk, pop, blues and gospel influences tastefully played on acoustic guitar, piano, accordion, and ukulele. They have been nominated for a Canadian Folk Music Award for Vocal Group of the Year, won the Folk Music Ontario "Songs From the Heart” award, and are known for their finely tuned harmonies in addition to the craft of songwriting. Jane and Eve are dedicated to community music making, leading regular vocal (Jane) and ukulele (Eve) groups for adults. www.gatheringsparks.com

KATHERINE WHEATLEY has recently been nominated for Canadian Folk Music Award for Album of the Year, Ensemble of the Year and Vocal Group of the year as a member of the powerhouse trio of singer-songwriters Boreal. Since the release of Winterbirds, Boreal has toured widely across Canada, including festivals and theatres. With her deep, earthy voice and warmth, colour and power on guitar she also provides catchy, melodic gold. Katherine also (along with Jane) leads regular choir workshops in Guelph. www.katherinewheatley.com

JONI NEHRITA makes music that celebrates life and love while reflecting current times, meeting listeners at the heart level. She has a gift for infectious grooves, socially-charged Afro-Latin+Caribbean soul that flirts with both jazz and funk. A multi-instrumentalist, seasoned songwriter, arranger and producer, she is also accomplished in sharing interactive and joyful exploration into the world of body percussion. She has led Música do Círculo workshops in the community and for group retreats & corporate events. www.joninehrita.com

MORE ABOUT CHALMERS www.chalmerscentre.ca

Chalmers Community Services Centre (CCSC) is a registered charity that is the only no-proof-of-income-needed food pantry in the City of Guelph - operating Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays. Due to the pandemic severely limiting city-wide programs and supports for families, as well as income streams for many caregivers, CCS has seen numbers of first-time food pantry users increase exponentially. This was showcased as 1 in 7 residents in Guelph reported living in a food insecure household, with 1 in 6 reported being severely food insecure (2021). This has been perpetuated by increasing costs at the grocery stores on food, hygiene products, and basic household necessities. At CCSC, we pride ourselves in offering no-judgement services to Guelph patrons, allowing users to choose from a variety of food options that both are culturally-diverse, and adhere to those with dietary restrictions. We have a mandate to provide healthy, fresh food to our guest, propelled by philosophies of inclusiveness and community. We welcome all, and every attempt is made to create a warm, caring environment to those who attend.
