About this Event

At Zora’s House, we believe that the best learning happens in community. Gather & Grow is our lunch & learn series designed to spark curiosity, deepen connection, and highlight the brilliance within our membership. Each session features Zora’s House community leaders sharing their knowledge, experiences, and passions, creating a space for productive dialogue and lifelong learning.

Our upcoming session will feature local Women+ of Color Leader, Shemya Wilson. Come ready to listen, share, and build meaningful relationships with fellow women+ of color. Whether you’re exploring new ideas, gaining practical insights, or simply looking for nourishing conversation over lunch, Gather & Grow is a chance to invest in yourself and your community.

HUGS - Reading Our Reflections Across Generations: Shemya Wilson

Info: Shemya Wilson, LSW, invites participants into HUGS — Helping Unite Generations in Sisterhood, an emerging community initiative rooted in the power of shared story and reflection.

Through collective reading, journaling, and conversation, we’ll explore how the stories we inherit — both written and lived — reveal the ways BIPOC women across generations understand love, resilience, and liberation. Drawing inspiration from the voices of women authors who have chronicled survival and hope, we’ll examine how history continues to shape the ways we show up for ourselves and each other today.

This gathering is both reflective and restorative — a space to read beyond the page, to listen across age and experience, and to recognize our shared strength in story. Participants will leave with a renewed awareness of how sisterhood, dialogue, and cultural memory can transform pain into power and connection into healing.
