Our Gardening and Farming Master Class gives urban farmers all they need for a successful life with a garden they’ll love. This course will provide in-depth knowledge so you can stop guessing and start planning, giving you more success, less wasted money, and fewer dead plants.

Overview
Day One: In-class learning intensive from 9–2 PM.
Join us for a full day of learning at our very own warehouse! An added benefit is that attendees can shop for goods after class and avoid shipping costs. Gather in our conference room with a select group of growers for a day full of learning all the critical information you need to be a confident and successful grower. Topics include but are not limited to:
Climate Considerations
- Understanding the climate in San Diego and how it affects growing
What to plant, when to plant, and why it matters
- A deeper look into planting patterns that you can apply to all agriculture
Soil Preparation
- How to prepare your soil correctly for maximum growth
- Common soil products and how to use them
- Products worth buying and those that are not
How to feed your plants
- Understanding fertilizer products, instructions on how to use them, and how to get the most bang for your buck.
- How to feed plants for maximum production
Seed Starting
- What you need to know to germinate any seed quickly and evenly
Direct Sowing
- Learn how to direct sow with success and confidence
Succession Planting
Day Two: On-farm learning experience from 9–2 PM. We will meet at our organic seed farm in Ramona, CA, to reinforce what you learned in the classroom. Transportation is not included.
