The Chicago art rock 4-piece made a splash during 2020 with their sophomore album Just Look at That Sky, finding themselves included in best of lists from that year including Vice, Rolling Stone, Paste, and more. Through the pandemic, the band remotely collaborated with other artists for a remix EP including Andy Bell (Oasis, Ride), Sad13 (Speedy Ortiz), Adam Faulkner (Gilla Band), and Bartees Strange while communicating with listeners online waiting for the opportunity to play their mix of noisy post-punk with “surreal humor and dark playfulness” (Paste).
SALA BESTIA (FR) (Noise Rock)
SALA BESTIA is a trio formed in 2022 in the underbelly of Paris. It features the drummer and guitarist from the band Revok, joined by the bassist of Desicobra, who is also a guitarist for Madeincanada, Schoolbusdriver, and more.
Masters of balancing grimy noise rock with indie pop lit by impressionistic touches of light, they make their debut album *Plenty Of Nothing* a faithful companion to existential emptiness, as well as a powerful outlet for our surrendering anxieties.
OHIO MARK (BE) (Noise Rock / Shoegaze)
Antwerp/Ghent based Ohio Mark shrouds itself in a haze of guitars and noise. Erik Van Hoecke and Pieter De Cnudde reshape fading synth textures into shoegazy guitars and pounding post-punk drums, with Benjamin Caes completing the lineup soon afterwards.
The band surfaced in 2018 with their first single Lucid Lake, and went on to release two EPs in the following years: 'Exotism' (2019) — an exploration of the full spectrum of loudness — and critically acclaimed 'Whoever' (2022). Alongside a handful of singles and contributions to 'A Sentimental Mixtape', Vol. 1 & 2, these releases cemented the trio's place in the contemporary noise and shoegaze landscape.
Now, with their full album 'Off' ready for release, Ohio Mark is set to take the next step.
