Join us in celebrating alongside artist Cassie Jones who has recently completed a year long study in wood fired ceramics. On view at The Craft Coven UNDERGROUND studio in Old City, this collection has been a labor of learning for Cassie, and we look forward to the unveiling of their newest work.
While the craft of wood firing is not new to Cassie, this recent concentration of wood firing with a nod to traditional tea bowl aesthetics is a recent direction. This new direction began in early 2025 after attending a tea bowl exhibit curated by local instructor, Mark Tyson which boasted textures and designs that piqued an area of interest that Jones had yet to be exposed to. After that exhibit Cassie ran head first into a personally driven curriculum with an effort to learn the skills needed to incorporate these traits in her own work. About the Location: The coven studio is located in the heart of Old City in a below ground storefront beneath a framing shop on 3rd Street just above Market. There are 10 steps down to get into the space, and our ceilings are not very high. Anyone over 6'4" will have watch their head until they have a seat.
