Galerie Gaudium presents their newest exhibition! We are proud to present our design classics alongside the art of none other than Amsterdam artist Harry van Gestel (1953).
Harry is an artist like no other. His works are full of spirituality androgeny romance poetry and cosmic energies. Presented in our gallery in the heart of Amsterdam the Jordaan where Harry has had his studio and home for 25 years. It has become a collaboration full of love personality and colour.
Harry van Gestel's art has been collected by art collectors curators and investors all over the world. In 2006 the international auction house Sotheby's then located at the Boelelaan in Amsterdam Zuid organized an exhibition of this contemporary artist's entire oeuvre from 1981 to 2006. This had never been done before. His beloved works have not been exhibited since 2019 and we are incredibly excited to be the first gallery to present his art again!
For art with such a strong personality we have found furniture with a matching appearance. We sourced pieces with special colours striking structures and unique materials. The “Spaghetti” and “Quinta” chairs by the Italian brand Alias stands out with their unique use of material shape and even colour. We also present very rare prototype chairs by Dutch designers Pierre Mazairac and Karel Boonzaaijer. In addition to chairs the collection also includes special lamps tables and rugs.
The exhibition is open from March 22nd to May 3rd on Friday and Saturday between 13:00 and 18:00.
