The sixth session of our Fusion Dance Lab!Topic for this session: Communication through frame
Frame — or more broadly, the way two bodies connect — is the alpha and omega of partner dancing. How does a leader communicate their intentions through their body? How does a follower listen and respond? What role do body / limbs positioning, tone, elasticity, and timing play? How does this connection differ across different dances? Come explore this rich topic and share your understanding with others.
This is not a typical lesson where a lecturer teaches and participants simply absorb new material. Instead, it's a collaborative exploration of defined topic. Katya and Martin will share their knowledge as well as encourage you to share your understanding of the topic with others.
Each session consists of two parts:
Part 1: Guided Topic Exploration – inputs from the lecturer(s) and participants, discussions and experiments (60 minutes)
Part 2: Free Dance – time to put your discoveries into practice (60 minutes)
