Enigmatický psych-rockový kolektiv Gnod letos slaví 20 let existence: dvě dekády nepřetržitých reinvencí a strhujících hudebních dobrodružství. Kapelu od roku 2006 tvoří pevné jádro, okolo nějž krouží proměnlivá sestava muzikantů z nejrůznějších hudebních světů. Co začalo jako šamanský droneový ansámbl (v jednu dobu čítající až patnáct členů) se s každým novým albem metamorfuje v novou hudební entitu, která si upevňuje své vlastní, zcela jedinečné místo na mapě současné nezávislé hudby. Gnod odkazují na britskou industriální scénu (Throbbing Gristle či Coil) a v jejich psychedelické, hutné a repetitivní tvorbě se opakovaně objevují taky vlivy krautrocku, dubu, post-punku, sludge i noiseové elektroniky.
Na loňskou desku Spot Land Gnod letos navazují kolaborativní nahrávkou Drop Out III, která vzešla ze spolupráce s kultovní newyorskou kapelou White Hills, a právě oznámeným albem Chronicles of Gnowt (Vol 1). S ním na jaře vyráží na evropské turné, v rámci nějž zahrají taky ve smíchovské MeetFactory.

Večer zahájí EDITH, noise-rockové trio ze středních Čech hrající v sestavě dvě basy - bicí - zpěv. Jejich přímočaré skladby s českými texty strhávají svou energií a otevírají prostor k hlubšímu zamyšlení. Kapela si prošla několika personálními a stylovými fázemi od minimalistického post-noise-coru, přes temnější post-rockovou polohu až po dnešní valivý post punk a noise-rock. Na kontě má dvě autorské, dlouhohrající desky a koncertuje po celé republice s občasnými výjezdy do zahraničí. S novým bicmanem se sestava ustálila v tříčlenné podobě a aktuálně chystá vydání nové desky, s níž letos oslaví 20 let na scéně.

Expect the unexpected. British shapeshifters Gnod, a band of many faces, return to Prague after three years, supported by EDITH
The enigmatic psych-rock collective Gnod is celebrating 20 years of existence: two decades of constant reinvention and gripping musical adventures. Since their inception in 2006, Gnod’s musical trajectory has been one of constant fluctuation borne out of an incessant need to discover new sonic worlds, furthering their own unique place in independent music with each new record. Beginning life as a shamanic drone ensemble, at times fitting up to 15 members on stage, these early rituals informed the core ideals that have come to define the group in their years of activity; community and trance-inducing repetition. Gnod reference the British industrial scene (Throbbing Gristle, Coil), and their psychedelic, dense output also repeatedly echoes influences of krautrock, dub, post-punk, and noise electronics.
Following last year’s Spot Land, Gnod are announcing a new collaborative record Drop Out III, created in tandem with New York's experimental rock titans White Hills, as well as a brand new album titled Chronicles of Gnowt (Vol 1). And this coming spring, they head out on a European tour with a stop at Prague's MeetFactory.

The night will open with EDITH, a noise rock trio from Central Bohemia, currently playing in a line-up of two basses - drums - vocals. Their raw, direct sound and Czech lyrics captivate with uncompromising energy while opening a space for deeper reflection. The band has gone through several personal and stylistic phases, from minimalist post-noise-core, through a darker post-rock period to today‘s rolling post punk and noise-rock. They released two full-length 2 albums, and perform throughout the country with occasional trips abroad. With a new drummer, EDITH are currently working on a new album, which will celebrate the band's 20 years on the scene.
