Just across the road from Mirrorball Ministries in Peoples’ Park is Kurilpa Kiosk which operates the First Nations-led Community Food Program & the Whoop Dee Doo Crew Music Program.
MZAZA, Jam & Scones, Zemzemeh and Ari Isabella and Friends are getting together to raise money for West End Community House and Community Plus+ who run these culturally enriching and life-sustaining activities in West End.
MZAZA
Led by French-Australian singer Pauline Maudy, MZAZA have a line-up of talented musicians from around the globe, and an aesthetic said to recall the free-spirited romanticism of Lhasa de Sela. Winners of the 2025 Australian Folk Music Awards Folk Artist of the Year, MZAZA are “Punchy, energetic and suffused with joy” - Songlines Magazine
Jam & Scones
Brisbane’s premiere “funkalicious” band, the Scones combine rock, funk, and reggae rhythms, soaring horns, and rich harmonies in their irresistibly infectious tunes. Complementing this are their sensitive soft indie sounds and lyrics. With their unique, grandiose live sets that are nothing short of spectacular, Jam & Scones are not to be missed.
Zemzemeh
Bridging ancient Persian mysticism with futuristic sound, Zemzemeh blends the traditional tanbur (ancient three-stringed lute from Khorasan) and shah kaman (spike-fiddle with sympathetic strings) with analogue synths and hip-hop beats and rhymes to create a soundscape of ritual and resistance. A "post-digital dhikr for the modern soul." - Stage Whispers
Ari Isabella Trio
Through evocative lyrics, captivating melodies and rich acoustic textures, the Ari Isabella Trio delivers intimate, powerful, and deeply connecting shows. Led by singer-songwriter Ari Isabella, with Mocara Kelly on vocals and violin and Rory Kelly on bodhrán and vocals, the trio blends a folk/indie sounds with Joni Mitchell, Stevie Nicks, and Parcels influences.
