My Fundamentals of 2-D Design Class at the Art League of Daytona Beach has a change of dates. The 5-week class will now be offered on Monday - February 23rd, March 2nd, 9th, 16th, & 23rd, 2026
Time: 10:00 AM - 1:00 PM.
If you struggle with composition, color, and other design decisions, then this is the perfect class to help you learn how to solve visual problems and gain a solid understanding of the elements and principles of two-dimensional design. In class demonstrations, discussion and hands-on assignments will emphasize the design elements (color, value, line, texture, shape/form and space) and principles (balance, dominance/emphasis, harmony, variety, movement, scale/proportion, repetition/rhythm and unity) that are essential to the creation of effective use and understanding of color theory and composition. Projects will be completed in a sketchbook so by the end of the class you will have made a 2-design handbook that will serve as a guide and resource for your future studio practice. To get the most out of this class you will need to work on some homework assignments. The class cultivates problem-solving, critical thinking, and creative thinking skills that are valuable for painting, drawing, mixed media, photography, and all 2-d art forms.
