About this Event
Surveillance ≠ Safety!
Join us for a community meeting and educational about ShotSpotter, a gun-detection technology & service that Detroit Police use to surveil our neighborhoods. The city has spent $7,000,000 on ShotSpotter, despite pushback from the community and no real evidence that it is helping with the crime rate in the city. That is $7,000,000 that could be spent on other programs and initiatives in Detroit.
Join us to learn more about ShotSpotter and how we can return that $7,000,000 to our community, rather than use it to fund surveillance!
