From The Workshop & Friends presents:Acoustic @ The Anchor
The 2nd of a brand new original music live session in Sevenoaks, Kent.
4 original local & national acoustic acts come together to showcase their songs. Free entry and Bario the Barman will be putting out a spread of sandwiches for the punters too.
Your incredible acts for tonight are:
*From The Workshop* - Your hosts
Indie folk duo making thoughtful, harmony-filled music with heart. Think stripped-back acoustics, a suitcase of influences, and songs that stay with you long after the last note.
*The Gillies*
An award winning singer-songwriter duo, originally from Norfolk but now live in SE London, influenced by Gillian Welch, John Moreland and Lucinda Williams.
Their fragile, dark musical bare bones style is the sound of steel-strung and tenor guitars weaving together and falls between the ethereal and gritty down-home reality. Understated melodies pull you into their haunting songs.
They won the GSMC award for best single and were chosen for the FATEA Spring Showcase Sessions. They have released 4 albums, toured through Europe and played live on BBC Radio. They are currently writing and recording a new album, and playing venues and festivals across the UK and Europe.
*Tom Cairnes*:
Welsh born, Croydon based Tom Cairnes is an incredible songsmith, whose music is drenched with soul and gravelly emotion. Definitely not to be missed.
*Russ Kearton*:
Heartfelt, swinging, soulful roots originals. Blues foundations with plenty of jazzy chords. An incredible guitarist, songwriter and local hero.
Book a table, invite your friends, get the drinks in and enjoy some incredible original music curated by one of Kent's most exciting folk duos.
