About this Event

Music at Co-Cath (MACC) launches its 2025–2026 season with From Death to Eternal Light, an immersive 60-minute program featuring Tomás Luis de Victoria’s Requiem (1605) interspersed with Marian Motets.
Taking place at the Co-Cathedral of St. Joseph in Prospect Heights, this concert draws audiences into a Renaissance soundscape of mourning and transcendence. Victoria’s Requiem—a masterpiece of solemn beauty—is woven together with motets in honor of the Virgin Mary, amplifying themes of solace, hope, and light beyond loss.
“The Requiem is music of profound stillness, but when paired with the Marian motets, it becomes a journey toward light and eternal comfort,” says Artistic Director Alejandro Zuleta. “This program invites audiences to step into the Renaissance imagination and discover how sacred music can heal across centuries.”
