The upcoming exhibits at the Hannibal Arts Council showcase a dynamic range of media, offering something for every art enthusiast. These exciting exhibitions will be on display May 29-June 27 at the Hannibal Arts Council, 105 S Main St.Join us for the Friday Night Preview on Friday, May 29, from 5:00-7:00 p.m., featuring musician Jerry Rosenkrans and an Artist Talk at 6:00 p.m.
The exhibits will feature a variety of talented artists, including the paintings of Louisiana artist Dennis Babbitt and Quincy artist and educator Austin Roberts. Words Come To Life is a special exhibit that will feature pieces from local artists inspired by written pieces composed by the Hannibal Friday Morning Writer’s Club. Participating artists include Adriana Brown, Howard Kuo, Vilma Holt, Renee Donley and Brenda Beck Fisher. The contributing writers for this program are Teresa Miller, Mary Ann Brinkley, John Paul Tomko and Susan Welker.
Additionally, local artists have submitted works for an open show, “Adventure.” In celebration of the 150th Anniversary of Mark Twain’s Adventures of Tom Sawyer, artists are tasked with creating a visual adventure. The Photography Channel features digital images reflecting the theme Take Me to the River, along with the Featured Photographers - photographer, cinematographer, filmmaker, musician and storyteller Cory Brandon Clay and photojournalist Wendi Fitzgerald.
Gallery hours through June 27 are Noon-5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday and 11:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m. Saturdays (during exhibits only).
