About this Event
An evening in the company of the Village Harmony Choir from Kings Bromley, along with the ASpire Community Band from Lichfield. Both making a return to the Festival after their debuts in 2025.

The Kings Bromley Village Harmony Choir
The Village Harmony Choir marks the start of its 8th Year with this performance. The choir is delighted to again be opening the Jazz Festival and launching it in style.
Formed from singers from Kings Bromley and the surrounding villages, the 20-strong choir have been delighting audiences, since their formation, with their specially selected repertoires. The choir has performed in Lichfield, as well as many local villages, was shortlisted for The Staffordshire Choirs competition.
Taking up the challenge of extending its song-book and performing with a live band has led to some interesting and lively rehearsals.
“We were delighted to be invited to sing at the Jazz Festival and have the chance to further extend our jazz performances”, explained Musical Director, Kathryn Hopson. “Our arrangements of jazz standards, and beyond, allows the choir to display its full voice and range”.
ASpire Community Jazz Band
ASpire, the Lichfield-based community band, part of Lichfield Arts, will be performing a variety of its latest arrangements, and for the first time performing with a choir, taking tunes from the age of Swing to modern jazz.
The band has performed at the Lichfield Blues and Jazz Festival, Fuse Festival, Christmas Lights Switch-On, The Bowling Green, Lichfield, St John the Baptist, Shenstone, and numerous charity events.
Under the direction of its Musical Director, Josh Clayton, the ASpire big band will be sharing their enjoyment of playing and performing.
“Made up of enthusiastic amateur musicians, ASpire welcomes new players, new music, and especially new opportunities to showcase its expanded repertoire”, added Josh Clayton. “We are delighted to be returning to Kings Bromley, after appearing at the inaugural Jazz Festival26”.
