Freedom Under Fire: Ukraine in Three FilmsOn Sunday, April 26, Ukrainians of Colorado, in collaboration with The Colorado Sun, invites you to an evening of film and reflection at the Rocky Mountain Public Media Center in Denver.
This event marks 40 years since the Chernobyl disaster. What happened then did not end there. The impact of the Soviet Union on Ukraine did not end either. It continues to shape lives, systems, and the reality people are living through today.
Through three films, we trace this history from the Chernobyl catastrophe to the present-day war, told through real footage, lived experiences, and firsthand perspectives. The evening will conclude with a panel discussion.
Program Schedule:
3:00 PM – Doors open and reception
3:15 PM – Opening remarks
3:30 PM – Chernobyl (HBO, Episode 1)

Ця подія присвячена 40-й річниці Чорнобильської катастрофи. Те, що сталося тоді, не залишилося в минулому. Вплив Радянського Союзу на Україну також не зник. Він і досі формує життя, системи та реальність, у якій живуть люди сьогодні.
Через три фільми ми простежимо цю історію від Чорнобильської трагедії до сучасної війни через реальні кадри, особисті історії та досвід людей. Завершиться вечір панельною дискусією.
