About this Event
You are invited to join local nonprofit Inventurous for a hands-on workshop turning discarded plastic into something useful and long-lasting. Using fused recycled film plastic, participants will make a cardhold / wallet to take home.
We’ll walk through the process of transforming everyday waste into durable “pleather,” then guide you through cutting and sewing your chosen item. No prior sewing experience needed — just curiosity and a willingness to experiment.
We’ll also be collecting newspaper delivery bags as part of our ongoing local recycling effort, so feel free to bring any you’ve been saving. Also collecting green and brown plastic containers and bottle tops (look for #2 code) for a large public art sculpture.
About Inventurous
Inventurous is a nonprofit micro-recycling studio created by artist, Tara de la Garza that works with communities to creatively reuse hard-to-recycle plastics through workshops, public art, and small-scale manufacturing. Our goal is to reduce plastic waste locally while giving people tangible skills and agency in the process.
Come make something, learn something, and be part of a local circular economy.
