About this Event
The Financial Literacy Course is a free program offered by The Lower Mainland Purpose Society in partnership with Chartered Professional Accountants of B.C., designed to empower individuals with the knowledge and skills to manage their finances effectively. The course begins on January 16th, 2025, at 5:30 PM- 6:30 PM and continues every Thursday until February 6th 2025.
Location: ZOOM
The course is divided into four main sections:
January 16th 2025- Managing Your Money: Learn about budgeting, financial services, investing, and setting financial goals.
January 23rd 2025- Fraud Protection: Understand how credit works, the benefits and risks associated with it, the pitfalls of payday loans, and strategies for dealing with debt.
January 30th 2025-Are You a Good Financial Role Model?: Discover why it’s important to teach kids about money, the challenges involved, and the characteristics of a good financial role model.
February 6th 2025-Effective Tax Strategies: Gain insights into understanding tax law, record keeping, reducing taxable income, and increasing deductions.
