SYNOPSIS:

After decades of dedicating her all to her family, 50-year-old Li Hong decides to learn driving so she can fulfill her lifelong dream of traveling. Flashbacks of Li Hong’s life reveal the decades of misogyny and oppression endured in the shackles of family and tradition.

Based on the true story of a middle-aged woman whose solo cross-country trip went viral, Like a Rolling Stone exposes the distorted gender roles forced upon generations of Chinese women. The powerful film galvanized and inspired audiences who saw the suffering of their daughters and mothers in Li Hong’s story, reigniting feminist discourse in China.
