Get your toes tapping this spring as Park Royal United Church presents a free ceilidh featuring the dynamic traditional ensemble Dahlia Ave. on Saturday, May 2 at 6:30 PM.Hailing from New Brunswick, Dahlia Ave. is a vibrant four-piece group known for their spirited blend of Old Time, Celtic, and Acadian music. Their performances capture the heart of a classic East Coast “kitchen party,” combining lively fiddle tunes, piano accompaniment, and energetic step dancing to create an engaging and joyful experience for audiences of all ages.
The ensemble features pianist Machaela Osowski, a graduate of St. Francis Xavier University and a PEI-based music educator, alongside fiddlers Martha Pitre, Amélie de Arcos, and Janelle Melanson. The group’s members bring an impressive depth of experience, having toured extensively across Canada, the United States, Europe, and Australia. As fiddlers, they have also been invited multiple times to compete at the prestigious Canadian Grand Masters Fiddling Competition, earning finalist placements on several occasions.
Audiences can expect an evening filled with rich musical traditions, high-energy performances, and an inviting atmosphere that celebrates community through music. With its lively rhythms and warm stage presence, this concert will have you dancing in your seat!
