Bookmark, Charlottetown’s independent bookseller, is pleased to be partnering with the Charlottetown Library Learning Centre for the launch of Lisa Carmondy Doiron’s book Ahoy, Mate, Ahoy! Miss Molly Molloy on Saturday, May 2nd at 2 pm in the Children Room of the library. Lisa will be joined by Patrick Guindon, the illustrator of the book. This free event will include a reading of the book, an ocean themed craft, colouring sheets from the book, and a book signing.
Set against the salty breeze and red cliffs of Prince Edward Island. Ahoy Mate Ahoy! Miss Molly Molloy is a lyrical tale of love, legacy and the special bond between father and daughter. Each morning, they cast their lines into the sea-but it's not only fish they're reeling in. With every tide and tangled net, their connection deepens, tied fast like the Celtic knot that binds their hearts.
Told in playful rhyme and gentle rhythm, this heartwarming story celebrates family traditions, island life, and the unbreakable threads that hold us together. Ahoy Mate Ahoy! Miss Molly Molloy is a joyful tribute to the magic of the ocean, the wisdom of a father's hands, and the timeless passing of traditions from one generation to the next.
LISA CARMODY DOIRON is an Island author, teacher, and choir enthusiast whose stories blend heart, humour, and playful language. With a master's degree in Literacy Education, she works as a literacy coach in the Department of Education and Early Learning. In 2025, she was recognized in both the 2025 Kidlit Chuckle Challenge and Halloweensie Writing Contest. She lives with her family and her mini poodle, Rusty.
PATRICK GUINDON is an illustrator, writer, and recovering elementary school teacher. He now spends his days making art and teaching process art in his studio (Creative Rebel Studio), while raising four kids with his partner.
