This Veterans Day, we remember, honor, and continue to give back. The American Legion Post 408 is proud to announce the Freddy Gonzalez Legacy Run 5K & 1K, held in honor of U.S. Marine Corps Lance Corporal Derek Hernandez, one of our hometown heroes from Edinburg who gave his life in service to our nation on June 6, 2010, while deployed in Helmand Province, Afghanistan.
Derek’s courage, commitment, and love for his country continue to inspire us all. His legacy lives on through his family, his community, and every effort made to support the next generation.
