WAITING FOR TEXTO is a hilariously interactive comedy-drama about the agony of the unanswered message — the ping you’re praying for, the two blue ticks you’re overanalysing, and the spiral you swear you won’t do again.
Writer-performer Aideen McQueen plays Lucy, a warm, witty, young(ish) singleton who’s just had a great night with Tom (a definite keeper… he’s got a Tesco Club Card). Now she’s done the brave thing: she’s sent the text. And as the minutes stretch into hours, Lucy turns to the audience — her flatmates, her confidants, her accidental group chat — to help her decode every silence, draft every “casual” follow-up, and survive the modern dating mind-game where confidence can collapse with a single notification… or the lack of one.
Described as “Bridget Jones meets Baby Reindeer”, Waiting for Texto delivers big laughs, sharp tech-fuelled observations, and a genuinely uplifting core — because beneath the comedy is something braver: an honest reckoning with loneliness, vulnerability, regret, and the anxiety modern connection can amplify.
