Join Eliza Clark, Juno Dawson and Avery Curran for a discussion on Queer Horror, and how the genre has shaped their own approaches to writing fiction.
Eliza Clark (she/her) is the author of Boy Parts (2020), Penance (2023), and She's Always Hungry (2024). In 2020, Boy Parts was Blackwell's Fiction Book of the year, and in 2022 Eliza was chosen as a finalist for the Women's Prize Futures Award for writers under thirty-five. In 2023, she was named one of Granta's Best of Young British Novelists. She also writes for film and television. a stage adaption of Boy Parts premiered at Soho Theatre in October 2023.
Juno Dawson (she/her) is a #1 Sunday Times best-selling novelist, screenwriter, podcaster, and a former columnist for Attitude Magazine. Juno's books include the global bestsellers, This Book is Gay and Clean. Her first adult fantasy trilogy Her Majesty's Royal Coven launched in 2022 and was an insant bestseller. With Dylan B Jones, Juno hosts the smash podcast So I got to thinking, the UK's biggest Sex and the City fan podcast. She is also a part of the queer cabaret collective known as Club Silencio.
Avery Curran (she/her) is a writer and researcher based in London, where she lives with her girlfriend and a beautiful but useless cat. She finished an MA in Victorian Studies in 2021 and is now midway through a PhD on queerness in nineteenth-century spiritualism. Her first novel, Spoiled Milk, is set at an isolated girls' boarding school in the 1920s, where the students turn to spiritualism following the mysterious death of one of their number.
The discussion will be followed by an audience Q&A and book signing.
