About this Event
This 4-week Saturday morning course is for beginners and those with some experience who would like to brush up on their oil painting skills. Each week we cover a fundamental of oil painting, including establishing value and atmosphere, composition, brushwork, colour mixing and colour relationships. Lessons are carefully structured and consist of weekly exercises based on thematic slide shows of dozens of inspiring paintings from art history up until the present. Class size is small (8 max) and each participant receives a great deal of individual attention. This Intro course is a great way to 'get your feet wet' and begin to develop confidence in painting in oils.
Note on fees: £165 fee includes tuition and all materials except for brushes (I can give suggestions for inexpensive sets, or you can buy a set from me as well). Tuition is non-refundable unless a replacement is found for your spot.
Access: The studio is up two flights of stairs.
