On Nov 7, 2025, 27 weanlings to 3 year old wild horses were placed in foster homes. These fostered wild horses will be gentled and ready for adoption on March 28th. Viewing will start on March 27, 2026, at the Fairgrounds in Grand Junction, Colorado. The HMA's of Colorado have come together to work with the Colorado BLM to sponsor this event. Piceance, Spring Creek Basin, Little Book Cliffs, Sand Wash Basin and a private donor, have all donated close to $30,000 to make this Foster to Adopt Program happen. Each person who is fostering will receive funds to cover the cost of fostering the wild horse. When the wild horse is adopted that person will pay the BLM the $125 purchase price and the remaining funds will be theirs to keep for gentling /training the wild horse.
We will all be sharing information about the progress of the training as it is shared with us.
