Have you ever wondered what fostering really looks like, or how community-based animal advocacy works beyond traditional rescue models?
Join us for a Foster & PAACT Information Night designed to offer clarity, transparency, and honest conversation about how we support pets and their people across Southern Alberta.
Consider bringing an optional entry donation for our free community Care Closet (pet food, litter, or cash donations) to help continue supporting animals in need—or simply attend for free.
Fostering can feel overwhelming at first, but many common concerns are more manageable than they seem. Worries about cost, property damage, housing, or flexibility are valid, which is why PAACT provides supplies, guidance, thoughtful matching, and ongoing support every step of the way. Many placements are also short-term and designed to fit real life.
At PAACT, we offer foster opportunities ranging from emergency placements lasting only a few days to longer-term care when needed. Our goal is always to protect the human–animal bond by giving animals a safe, loving home environment during difficult times while prioritizing return-to-owner whenever safely possible.
Fosters are never expected to take on financial burdens, handle crises alone, or work beyond agreed boundaries. You will receive clear care plans, communication, advocacy support, and a team with a wide range of diverse experience standing beside you.
When you foster, you are doing more than opening your home. You may be the reason someone does not have to face the heartbreak of surrendering their beloved animal. You may be the safe place an animal desperately needed. You may be the bridge between crisis and hope.

During this session, we will cover:
• Who PAACT is and why our model focuses on early intervention and keeping pets at home whenever possible
• Our foster programs, including emergency, temporary, and longer-term placements
• What supports fosters receive, and what expectations and boundaries look like
• Volunteer and community advocacy opportunities beyond fostering
• How our Care Closet, rehoming support, and crisis programs work together to help prevent unnecessary surrender
This is a pressure-free, informational session. Attending does not commit you to fostering or volunteering. Our goal is to ensure anyone interested has the knowledge they need to make an informed, compassionate decision.
