About this Event
Come and sit with us in meditation. Whether you’re a complete beginner, or long accustomed to mindfulness and meditation, you’re welcome to join us fortnightly at the Firepit Art Gallery. The meditations will be led by Cara Stimson, a local resident on the Peninsula.
Cara has benefited from various forms of meditation since she started practising yoga around 2005. She has since been on a journey of self-discovery and acceptance using many therapeutic, spiritual, meditational and developmental tools and modalities.
Our next group session will start on October 15th, then October 29th, November 12th and November 26th. Doors will be open at 6:30pm
Firepit is a unique space, we have a gallery of beautiful and relevant art, artist studio spaces and a community event space. We will hold the meditation sittings in a slightly sunken room, surrounded by wood, a firepit, red carpet and some seating for those who would like back support while meditating.
Places are ticketed in advance, this is a free event, donations are welcome to help us with running costs, we want meditation to be accessible to everyone. Our priority is to bring the community together and provide an opportunity for people to sit together in a place of calm amidst our busy lives.
Meditation and mindfulness has physiological and emotional well-being benefits, we hope you will join us in co-creating this space for ourselves and each other around the fire.
What to bring: ideally, please bring a small cushion to either lay your head or sit on, and also a light blanket to keep you warm while sitting still.
We are excited to be offering this regular event for your and our community. Doors open 6.30pm, meditation will start promptly at 7pm and the door will be locked shortly after in order not to disrupt other attendees. We look forward to sitting with you.
