Almost three years ago, Brandon Baca, Suzanne Whatley, and Jacey Jetton sat down and discussed the calling each of us felt to gather elected officials in Fort Bend County around God's Word in communion. This resulted in us forming The Table Fort Bend, which is a “Community of elected leaders rooted in identity - not position or status. We are a people gathering at a table to be reminded we are human (made in the image of God), we are not alone, and we are made on purpose for a purpose.”This year, we felt the calling to host our first Fort Bend Prayer Breakfast. This will be a time for those in Fort Bend to come before our God with humble and fervent hearts to pray for the people of our county. One of my favorite passages in the Bible comes Paul, wrote this to the Romans, "Let love be genuine. Abhor what is evil; hold fast to what is good. Love one another with brotherly affection. Outdo one another in showing honor. Do not be slothful in zeal, be fervent in spirit, serve the Lord. Rejoice in hope, be patient in tribulation, be constant in prayer. Contribute to the needs of the saints and seek to show hospitality." Romans 12:9-13
The Chief of Chaplains at Marketplace Chaplains, and Brigadier General in the United States Air Force, Bob Page will provide encouragement before we pray over specific areas of our county.
