On Saturday, June 27th from 2:00-4:00, join the Syracuse Vegan Living Program at the Central Library for a screening of the 2011 documentary Forks Over Knives. This documentary argues that most degenerative diseases, like heart disease and type 2 diabetes, can be prevented or reversed by adopting a whole-food, plant-based diet, rejecting animal products and processed foods. The film follows the research of Dr. T. Colin Campbell and Dr. Caldwell Esselstyn, and features "reality patients" who test the diet's effectiveness for their chronic conditions. It promotes the idea of food as medicine, showing how a plant-based diet can be a powerful intervention for health. This screening is free, healthy snacks will be provided.
