About this Event
Yoga and Forest Bathing in Brighton's countryside
Join us for a rejuvenating day of yoga and forest bathing in the picturesque countryside just outside Brighton. Our journey begins at one of Brighton’s most beautiful gardens, before heading out into the surrounding woodlands.
We will meet at 10:00 AM at OneGarden, an extensive garden featuring flower beds, a pond, a café, and toilets. We will start the day with a walk and a beginner-friendly yoga practice, either in the woodlands or on a scenic hill. If the weather isn’t perfect, we can move inside and turn the event into an indoor-outdoor experience.
"Shinrin-yoku" translates to "taking in the forest atmosphere," and it is as simple as walking through nature and connecting with what's around you. We combine this with yoga and some playful activities like looking for fractures, creating a mandala, or laying on trees, watching the movement of the canopy. This practice is proven to reduce stress, improve memory, and offer calm and peaceful clarity.
Duration
The trip typically lasts about 4 hours, but it can be adjusted to be shorter or longer depending on the group's needs.
Weather
The weather is usually favorable, and the event remains enjoyable even with a bit of rain. Thanks to our studio, we can modify the event to be partly indoors and partly outdoors. The studio is located within garden walls and is surrounded by the Great Woods and Stanmer Nature Reserve.
