About this Event
A Day in September
I am delighted to share another nurturing day retreat at The Earthship, within the gorgeousness of Stanmer Park. A chance to immerse yourself in a day dedicated to cultivating awareness – a theme that will deepen our connection with ourselves, others, and the world we inhabit.
We will move through a series of practices including:
🌼 Gentle yoga practice to awaken the body and mind.
🌼 Mediation on compassion to deepen into our theme.
🌼 Nourishing homemade vegan lunch.
🌼 Mindful woodland walk connecting with the trees and the natural world, deepening our understanding of our place within the web of life.
My intention is that the day is accessible and inclusive with a friendly community feel so that everybody is able to enjoy and benefit from the practices.
The Earthship is a sustainable haven, you can learn more about it here: www.lowcarbon.co.uk/earthship-brighton.
Testimonials from the last event
"The gentleness of it all! How we moved from one thing to another with no expectations, allowing myself to be fully present, with my body, in such a beautiful place and guided by your soft, wise, humorous words. And of course, connecting with trees and nature in the woodland."
" I felt very present and grounded by the end of the day. I know that I would like more days like this"
"I hope it’s the first of many Tammy. You’re very authentic, it’s easy to relax into your holding presence. Like you’re bringing all your years of learning and practise and wisdom to your teaching, and generously sharing it with us. I’m feeling better than I have in absolutely ages this morning! "
"the venue was amazing, the mix of yoga practice, delicious food, mindful walking in the woods and yoga nidra was just right. Really felt supported and nurtured. Tammy is so welcoming and gentle. The whole day flowed beautifully. I felt like I was cared for and thought about. Which felt really good!
About Tammy:
Tammy McCann: 500hr RYT, 100hr Meditation TT
Tammy's practice is rooted in Buddhism. For many years she practised at a local centre, attending many retreats. She has also explored the teachings and practises of many different traditions, and this fuelled her love of philosophy and inquiry. Yoga played an important part throughout these earlier explorations and led her to the decision to train formally. She completed a two-year 500-hour yoga teacher training which was intense and challenging, but gave her a solid grounding in yoga’s spiritual and physical elements. The training explored the eight limbs of yoga, and as she studied she found her home in the practice. Teaching what she has learned, and what inspires and excites her, is now her passion.
Tammy's classes are playful and accessible, while also being heartfelt and informed by a deep belief in the power of yoga. This is the power she communicates through a spirit of lightness, openness and playfulness. Only in freedom, compassionate curiosity and acceptance will true healing happen, and Tammy brings this into her classes by exploring all the elements of yoga: postures, breathwork and meditation.
