About this Event
Led by a knowledgeable guide as you follow the Herd of Hope trail across Spitalfields Market, London, along the way you’ll learn about Dame Daphne Sheldrick, who became the first person in the world to raise and rewild orphaned African elephants.
You'll discover what it takes to give a rescued newborn elephant a second chance – and how our pioneering conservation work is forging a lasting legacy for wildlife.
Whether you’ve spotted the bronze elephants around Spitalfields and wondered what they represent, adopted an orphaned animal with Sheldrick Wildlife Trust (SWT), or simply have an interest in African wildlife and conservation, this is the walk for you. Limited places, booking required.
What to expect:
- 1 to 1.5 hours guided walk through Spitalfields Market
- Small group experience
- Outdoor walking, come rain or shine
- Deeper understanding of SWT’s pioneering conservation work
- Stories from the SWT archive
- Suitable for adults and young people over the age of 14.
The tour is free, but contributions on the day towards the SWT’s conservation projects will be gratefully received.
If you’re unable to attend one of the scheduled walks, please get in touch to see whether a private tour can be arranged.
