About this Event
To protect human and planetary health and ensure access to healthy food for all we urgently need to reform the global food system. The “food as commons” approach offers a radical revisioning of food policy around a key paradigm shift: from food as commodity, to food as a commons, or public good.
In the Netherlands, the food as commons perspective motivates a mosaic of diverse interventions. The commons approach is integrated into urban strategies of food rescue and re-use, and emerging alternative approaches of food production.
This workshop examines how the food as commons approach is being taken up by diverse actors and enrolled in efforts to transform land use, conceptualise public health, and bring about equitable and sustainable transitions in the food system.
As this is a participatory workshop, we ask participants please commit to attending all of the panels and plan on joining in discussions.
