Join us for an electrifying Flow Tribe workshop featuring Aadhish (AJ) — a London-based Afro dance artist and member of @homefamuk.
Why Aadhish?
As a guest to African dance styles, Aadhish approaches the practice with respect, intention, and continuous learning. From the beginning of his journey, he prioritised studying the foundations—understanding not just the movements, but what these dances represent culturally and historically.
This ongoing process allows him to engage with the style authentically, speaking the same “language” while gradually discovering his own voice within it—developing a personal expression, or “slang,” shaped by his own background and experiences.
For Aadhish, movement goes beyond technique. Dance is also emotional and spiritual. His approach encourages dancers to connect deeper with themselves—exploring how movement can support the nervous system through release, grounding, and expression.
Rather than only focusing on precision, this workshop invites you to:
- Feel your movement, not just execute it
- Build a personal connection to the style
- Explore your individuality within a shared cultural space
Aadhish offers respectful guidance on how to step into the Afro dance community as a guest—helping dancers find their place, voice, and confidence while honouring the culture, its origins, and its lifestyle.
