ABOUT
Flow, Release + Ground is a a 60-minute immersive experience combining the therapuetic benefits of somatic dancing, meditation, breathwork, and sound healing.
What is Somatic Dancing?
Somatic Dancing is unchoreographed, freeform movement that focuses on the experience of the body, which can help reduce stress and anxiety, improve our mental health and self-image, and bring awareness to the memories, feelings and emotions our mind has otherwise dismissed or forgotten.
What is Meditation?
An active process of intentionally focusing your mind to help manage your mental and emotional wellbeing; this can be done while sitting, lying down, standing, walking, eating, etc. Meditation is typically used to help achieve calmness and inner peace, cultivate a positive mindset, reduce stress and anxiety, improve focus and concentration, and/or enhance awareness.
What is Breathwork?
The process of intentionally controlling and/or changing your breath pattern to encourage improvement in your mental, physical, and emotional wellbeing.
What is Sound Healing/Sound Bath?
Listening to and/or feeling healing sound frequencies and vibrations from an array of tools such as musical instruments and/or the voice. While they can be harmonious, sound baths are less about performing musically and more about helping the body resonate and realign to healing frequencies. They are known to help reduce stress and anxiety, encourage relaxation and feelings of well-being, help release emotional blockages, uplift mood, boost energy levels, and even promote restful sleep.
The combination of these 4 modalities help to relax, rejuvenate and realign the mental, physical, and energetic bodies back into harmony. What a great start to a new year!
WHO MAY ATTEND
18 years and older are welcome; no experience required.
Sound baths are known to be detoxifying and high in frequencies; therefore, they are typically not recommended for people with a history of the following, but not limited to, pacemakers, use of major medications, mental illness, seizure disorders, aneurysms, cardiovascular disease, or significant recent physical injuries, surgery, or current pregnancy. Should you have any questions or concerns regarding a medical condition or treatment, I encourage you to consult with your primary care physician or other qualified health care provider prior to participating in this event.
THE EXPERIENCE
This event will last for a duration of 1 hour –- 25-minutes of guided freeform somatic dancing (which incorporates breathwork and meditation), followed by a 10-minute seated focus meditation and breathwork practice to welcome stillness back to the mind and body, and lastly, a 25-minute sound bath to soak in the new sensations and ground into our intentions for the new year.
The sound bath will utilize tools such as crystal quartz singing bowls, chimes, tingshas, shakers, a gong, and drums. ** Please note that although the sound bath is geared towards producing gentle, harmonious resonances, parts of the session may involve sound tools that give off very high or very low-pitched sounds. If you are particularly sensitive to sound, it may be best to position yourself furthest away from the instruments. **
Everyone reacts differently to somatic dancing and sound baths (during and after); all experiences are unique and incomparable. You may experience a rollercoaster of emotions, intensified sensations, a deep meditative state, dream-like awareness, fall asleep, or even nothing at all. Anything you experience during and after this session is appropriate for you.
Understand that regardless of your experience, the sound bath will allow vibrations to travel throughout your body and help you resonate to those healing frequencies. So, lose the expectations, let go and get ready to experience a collective, transformative journey through dance and sound. I look forward to our time together!

HOW TO PREPARE (RECOMMENDATIONS)
Wear comfortable, non-restrictive clothing that would allow for gentle movement.
Hydrate well; sound travels best through mediums such as water. It may also be best to eat something light an hour or two before attending; this may prevent any distractions of hunger or discomfort from arising while participating in the event.
Bring a yoga mat for sitting/lying down, and optionally, you may also bring a pillow, blanket, warm socks, an eye mask/cloth to cover eyes (blocking out external stimuli), and/or crystals/good luck charms.
Come with an open heart and leave expectations behind; sound healing works best when we are most receptive and present in the here and now, allowing the experience to unfold as it is.
