About this Event
Born and raised in Los Angeles, designer Evan Brewster fell in love with the artistic and natural world the city has to offer. He developed a fascination with fashion and design through the ability to express oneself and the connection it allows people to share and bond over. After highschool, Evan wanted to leave behind the academic system, finding it too empty. Instead of going to a University, he wanted to learn an artistic skill, leading him to study fashion design at FIDM in Los Angeles. His first ever collection was brought to life in the advanced design program, DEBUT runway show. With 10 looks Evan tapped into spiritual enlightenment and expressed what motivates him to keep trudging through this twisted world by paying homage to those who inspire him to create. Specifically noting inspiration from his ancestry Evan used the intricate work of his grandmothers beaded jewelery for accessories and created prints hinting towards movies, music and television that inspire him. He integrated these motifs into a timeless blended style of formal and street, creating unique details on classic garments that can look good on everyone. To him, the art of creation is one of the most spiritually healing actions an individual can take for themselves and others.
