Join the for a hybrid Coastal Systems course hosted by . This 40-hour course is designed for adult learners and blends in-person classes, live Zoom sessions, and immersive field experiences across Southwest Florida.
🌊 Course Focus
- Coastal Uplands – Coastal forests, dunes, and upland wildlife
- Wetlands – Storm protection, water filtration, and biodiversity
- Nearshore Waters – Estuaries, seagrass meadows, and coastal marine systems

- March 21 – April 11, 2026
- In-person classes: Saturdays, 9:00 am – 3:30 pm
- Online classes (Zoom): Tuesdays and Thursdays, 3:00 – 6:00 pm

💻 Format
- Hybrid delivery: in-person instruction and online live Zoom sessions, independent work
- Five in-person guided field trips across Sarasota, Longboat Key, and Englewood

- March 21: Estuarine environments – Sarasota Baywalk & Quick Point
- March 28 (AM): Beach & dune systems – North Lido Beach Park
- March 28 (PM): Sea turtle & coastal conservation sites - Mote
- April 4: Upland environments – Cedar Point Environmental Park
- April 11: Nearshore environments – Seagrass dip-netting at Mote
Transportation and meals are not included.
