Flamenco Classes APERTURE Cuadro Residency

A Través is pleased to announce classes during the Atlanta Flamenco Festival. As part of APERTURE, the classes will be given by guest artists with Entre Flamenco, the company performing at Emory University PAS on November 8 and 9.

The classes cover short sets of material (llamada, letra, pasos, not a long choreography or song) so that you have a chance to play with the lessons in the tablao/cuadro/improvisation environment while the teachers are present. Experience is required. Technique is not going to be taught during these classes. The focus is on gaining experience in interaction in flamenco. Please inquire if you have questions!

Classes happen at 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. THURSDAY AND FRIDAY, November 6 and 7, at the Mask Center, located inside the Little Five Points Community Center, .

Tuition:

Early registration, on or before Nov. 1:

$45/1 class and $70/2 classes.

Late registration, on or after Nov. 2:

$60/1 class and $110/2 classes.

Payments are non-refundable, and tuition is non-transferable.

We are not offering a tuition reimbursement option this year, but there will be a performance component of these classes at some point down the road where you can pick up a stipend to defray from your tuition costs. Performing is optional.

Come and learn something new in these classes and apply it in a performance in the future. That new thing will be unique to you, and the performance is a way of putting a date in the future for you to realize a goal associated with your new thing.

All disciplines are invited and encouraged to attend these classes. The goal is to experience perspectives of working with the music and the movement so that you take away new experiences that shape your practice of flamenco - where you are personally.
