About this Event
The Veteran Peer Access Network Supervisorial District 5 (VPAN SD5) is hosting a First on the Scene - Training for Emergency Trauma Incidents on Saturday March 14, 12pm–4pm at the VFW USS Gudgeon Ship 8310.
Free lunch will be provided at 11:30am.
Event Description: When an incident happens, every second counts — and the actions taken before professional help arrives can mean the difference between life and death. This event is an interactive, hands-on class designed to empower everyday community members with the confidence and capability to act swiftly and effectively. Participants will learn how to assess an emergency scene, prioritize safety, and provide essential lifesaving interventions until trained responders take over.
RSVP Details:
- 30 person limit. RSVP required.
- Class, lunch and refreshments included with RSVP
- Veterans and military family members of all ages welcome.
- Parent discretion advised due to training involving themes including trauma, injury and disaster scenarios.
Objective: Participants learn how to identify dangers, ensure personal safety, and determine the needs of injured individuals before taking action.
