First conceived in 2022 by Miami photographer Josh Aronson, the “Photo Book Speed Date” concept is a playful twist on the speed dating trend that first started back in the late ‘90s. Rather than romantic connections, the event encourages participants to connect over their shared love of the books, whether coffee table books, art books, biographies, manuals, folios or technique-driven tomes, that influence their own photography.
Join us prepared to discuss the pages of your fave photo (or art) book with a fellow enthusiast in rapid-fire 10 minute rounds that are designed to create “brief but meaningful conversations inspired by images, stories, and personal reflections.”
Doors open at 5:00 p.m.

The mission of First Light Camera Club is to promote interest in the photographic arts and provide educational opportunities that enable members to achieve their highest potential as photographers. Weekly meetings are structured to be engaging and interactive, featuring presentations by distinguished speakers from the local and regional photography community, educational tech nights, Maine-based field trips, formal and informal digital and print critiques, and portfolio development projects. Membership is $40 annually.
