Join us for an evening of acoustic music. Tonight’s performance features two sessions by The Galway Rogues, the four piece Irish folk and trad band led by Michael Corbett- Guitar, lead vocals; Dan O'Connell- Accordion, whistles, vocals; Johnnie Kennedy- Double bass; Liam Corbett- Bodhrán
And maybe a few guest appearances
Michael Corbett- Michael is a native of the Boston area who moved to Savannah in 2005. He plays acoustic guitar and is currently the lead singer and front man for The Galway Rogues in addition to occasional solo gigs. Michael has been performing Irish music professionally since 1995 and has been mentored by some of the finest Irish folk musicians of the twentieth century, including Robbie O'Connell and the legendary Liam Clancy. Michael is also influenced by a variety of American folk musicians from Pete Seeger to Bill Staines. In Savannah, Michael was also the lead singer and guitar player for Seldom Sober and The Savannah Ceili Band.
Dan O'Connell- Dan, a native of Cleveland, OH, has been playing Irish music for over thirty years. He was a founding member of The Savannah Ceili Band and other Savannah based bands. Dan is the owner of O'Connell's pub and has lived in Savannah ever since the incident in Philadelphia.
Johnnie Kennedy- Johnnie has been playing bass professionally for over 50 years. Johnnie has worked with such notable artists as Freda Payne, the Drifters, the Platters, and the Coasters. A local legend, Johnnie works for Portman's music during the day. He and Michael first played together in 2009.
Liam Corbett- Liam is Michael's son and is a big fan of Irish music, particularly The Clancy Brothers, The Wolfe Tones, and The Irish Rovers. Liam plays bodhrán and made his professional debut with the Rogues at the 2025 Savannah Irish Festival.
