About the Class:First Circle classes are designed to teach the fundamentals of magickal practice and to introduce the core CHST tradition, a framework that allows practitioners of different skills and backgrounds, as well as those just starting their spiritual journeys, to practice together. These classes are part of our central mission as an interfaith temple: To provide a welcoming place, community, and fellowship for magick users and spiritual seekers of all backgrounds.
This 13-week class covers basic magickal techniques: calling a circle, cleansing and consecrating our ritual space, getting acquainted with herbs and stones, building our altars - and much more in-between! Our goal is to provide a space for supportive and inclusive instruction, drawing on our experience and the experiences of our students.
Our first class, Ice, begins with the elemental structures of our magickal space and a look into the concepts and practices of calling a circle.
CHST is a non-profit 501(c)3 church funded entirely by voluntary donations, and all classes are taught by volunteers. While there is no fixed cost associated with the class, we suggest a donation of $10 per class. All donations go to keeping the lights on in our new temple so we can continue to provide this space for our community.
