About this Event
Bordeaux is the ultimate fine wine, the gold standard for classicists, and the stuff that great cellars are made of. Set around picture-perfect Chateaux, the vineyards sit at the edge of the Atlantic and are subject to the vicissitudes of her turbulent weather, no vintage being alike. Built to age, the character of each harvest tells a story in the bottle that only reveals itself with time.
Great vintages like 2005 are finally hitting their prime after shedding youthful tannin, while underrated vintages like 2004 and 2014 are showing their worth for the savvy buyer. Tonight we delve deep in the cellar to unearth mature treasures from great vintages and top picks from less palmy years, from big-hitting classed growths to out of the way chateaux worth seeking out.
If you love rare wines and special treats, this is not to be missed as we will be sourcing and opening some serious kit alongside an excellent range of perfectly matured English cheeses.
Our shop tastings start at 7.30pm and run for approximately one-and-a-half to two hours. We will taste 6-8 wines on a theme, and bread, cheese and charcuterie is provided to match with the wines. Due to the communal nature of the tasting, we are unable to cater for dietary requirements.
