Financing People-Driven Climate Solutions: Green Accountability for a Livable Planet
The scope, scale, and complexity of the climate change challenge cannot be solved by governments alone. Driving effective, equitable, and sustainable solutions to tackle climate change will require dynamic new partnerships with non-state actors, including civil society, the private sector, social entrepreneurs, and others in the social economy to put people and communities at the heart of climate finance and hold decision-makers accountable for climate action that benefits everyone.

Learn more about the and how you can get involved in this dynamic, multi-stakeholder collaboration, initiated by the World Bank’s Global Partnership for Social Accountability and bringing together leading civil society and social economy actors as implementation partners to advance the quality, effectiveness, and equity of climate finance.
The event will also preview the forthcoming launch of the WBG’s Civil Society and Social Innovation Alliance (CIVIC) and opportunities for stakeholders and financiers to join this exciting new partnership and leverage WBG financing, knowledge, and relationships with governments to strengthen accountability efforts in climate as well as in other development sectors.

This event will showcase emerging lessons from projects in Bangladesh, Brazil, Cameroon, Mexico, and Senegal supported by the World Bank Group’s Green Accountability Initiative to more systematically connect citizens to their countries’ climate adaptation and mitigation policy efforts. Panelists will discuss how the Green Accountability framework and Green Accountability Platform and Technology Accelerator can help strengthen the next round of NDCs and drive progress on global climate goals.
