About this Event

Please note: To join this workshop you or your business needs to reside within one of the following GM local authorities: Bolton, Bury, Oldham, Manchester, Rochdale, Salford, Stockport, Tameside or Trafford, Wigan.

You also need to be: The owner of a business OR an aspiring entrepreneur with a business idea you want to develop.

To ensure we have the correct information, please fill out the Generator Registration Form, or bring one of the following forms of identification with you to the workshop:

  • Your National Insurance (NI) number – if you have not yet registered a business
  • Your Companies House registration number or Unique Taxpayer Reference (UTR) – if you have registered a company with Companies House or are self-employed/sole trader registered with HMRC

Kindly note that we may not be able to admit you to the workshop without this information, so we strongly encourage you to have it ready on the day.

Financial Foundations for Start-ups

A session equipping participants with the core knowledge to manage finances within the business, including cashflow, budgeting and key considerations for a sustainable start-up.


Learning objectives:

  • Understand the core financial building blocks of a startup
  • Create and interpret a simple financial plan
  • Build and manage a realistic budget
  • Gain clarity on costs, pricing, and cash flow
  • Identify key financial risks and considerations early on
