About this Event

Are you a finance professional looking to take the next step? Our Finance Leadership Programme in Cambridge is delivered in partnership with Grant Thornton. It is designed to help you develop your leadership skills and achieve your full potential, all in a relaxed and informal way.

You’ll hear from finance directors, CFOs and industry experts on a variety of topics. They’ll share their experiences about how they achieved their career goals, giving you lots of inspiration and ideas to take back to your organisation.

Why come along?

The Finance Leadership Programme is a unique opportunity to learn from and share your experiences with other finance professionals while spending time on both your personal and professional development.

It’ll also give you the chance to network with your peers and learn about other business sectors. And you’ll also get access to our mentoring programme where we’ll match you with a CFO.

We're delighted to welcome our speakers to the next session:

Leading Through Uncertainty: Moving Beyond Management to Navigating the Unknown

Dr Claire Hunter brings a rare blend of academic depth, corporate experience, and human‑centred coaching to the Finance Leadership Programme. With a PhD in organisational studies focused on career transitions, and more than two decades in leadership development, HR, and executive coaching across global organisations such as Shell, she specialises in helping professionals navigate moments of change with clarity, calm, and confidence.

What to expect from the session

When you can't accurately predict what's coming next, trying to manage the ambiguity and uncertainty can often backfire. So, what happens when genuine uncertainty means you don't have the answers and won't for some time?

In this interactive session, you will explore the difference between managing and leading through uncertainty. Drawing on neuroscience and leadership research, you'll discover why our natural responses to wait for clarity can actually negatively impact our teams, and what to do instead.

Through peer discussion and practical application, you'll identify:

  • ways to shift from managing, to leading,
  • actions for a current uncertainty you're navigating,

which will help you and your team move forward confidently and purposefully, even with incomplete information and an unclear path.

Places for this FLP session are limited so booking is essential.
